About
Founded in 1975 by Alan Wolfe, Christian Schaffalitzky & Ruth Lynam among others. Now one of the top university orienteering clubs in the country having won a number of intervarsities events in the past years and the club now contains some of the countries top athletes.
In 2010/11 the club also held an Intervarsities training weekend on Bull Island in November, a Leinster League event on Bull Island in March 2011, and were top University at the Intervarsities hosted by Queens. Conor Short was selected to compete at the Junior World Championships in Poland. Séamus O’Boyle, Ruairi Short and Rosalind Hussey were selected to compete at the World Championships in France. Ruairi Short was also given the honour of a pink.
In 2011/12 the club organised the Intervarsities on Glendasan in conjunction with a Leinster League. It was a successfull event with a good turnout and the club were pleased with it. Total membership was increased slightly and it is hoped to continue this trent in the future.
